5 Tips For a Great Interview

1.) Make sure your interviewee is comfortable with the setup. You don't want your interviewee squirming around during the interview, so make sure they are as comfortable as possible.

2.) Dress Professional. No one wants to be interview be a dude in a sweaty t shirt and overalls. Dress casual or even dress with some high class.

3.) Do your research. With background knowledge about your subject, you can converse with the subject, and possibly ask more insightful questions.

4.) Make eye contact (show interest in their answers), if you don't show interest in their answers your subject will become frustrated and possibly even leave the interview.

5.) Keep your interview short. Try and keep your interview under 10 to 15 minutes. After that point subjects start to get restless and may shorten their response to finish the interview quicker.

Ravens Place 4th at State Golf Tournament

On Monday October 20th, 2014 the Ravens golf team competed in the state golf tournament in Topeka, KS. The Ravens placed 4th overall as a team with a score of 364. The Ravens were led by freshmen Rosie Klausner who shot a score of 82, placing 4th overall for individual results.
Head Coach Sydney Tucker was excited about Klausner's performance.
"I'm very excited for her, she did a great job," Tucker said. "Especially the fact that she didn't play her best on the front side, with a score of 45. Then to turn around and score a 37 on the back side, which is incredible."
Senior Ragan Kinkade's only year with the Ravens golf team ended with a top 20 finish at the state tournament tying for 18th with a score of 90. Team Captain Chloe Kraus tied for 22 with a score of 93.
The golf team has two graduating seniors, Ragan Kinkade and Chloe Kraus.
"That's going to hurt us. But we do have a couple girls on Junior Varsity that will be able to step up next year," Tucker said. "We are hoping to have some new freshmen coming in. So we have a lot of girls working on their game, that will have a good impact on us."
With the Ravens having a sophmore heavy variety team, they had only one placing in the top 50. Top scoring sophomore Brennan James tied for 36th with a score of 99. Next Raven sophomore Abby Julo placed 58th with a score of 106. Finally, sophomore Halle England placed 78th with a score of 122.
Coach Tucker had encouraging words about her team's performance.
"Everybody gave it their all, since it is a tough golf course. Its very tight, with lots of trees, and everyone hung in there and played well."

Girls Golf: Olathe Cup and Deer Creek Recap

In the first two tournaments the Ravens did very well taking the Olathe Cup Championship (Falcon Ridge) with them to Olathe Northwest. TheOlathe Cup is only a nine hole tournament instead of a full 18. Senior Chloe Kraus came in first with a score of 42. Senior Ragan Kinkade came in second with a score of 44 and Freshmen Rosie Klausner came in third with a score of 48. For a total placement the Ravens came in First place.
At Deer Creek the Ravens played 18-holes but did not play as well as they did at Falcon Ridge. As a team the Ravens placed 5th in the tournament, but plan to rebound and have a great next tournament. Chloe Kraus placed 6th overall with a score of 86 but still medaled for the Ravens at Deer Creek.

When asked about team improvements Coach Tucker said, “The team needs to work on their chipping and putting.”
