Final
A New Beginning
My sophomore year marked a new interest in a career opportunity; sports broadcasting. As my sophomore year developed and I started paying closer attention the the "behind-the-scenes" aspect of Sportscenter and sporting event my interest grew stronger. Towards the end of sophomore year i had a choice to enroll in the class again, and the decision was easy.
First Hand Experiences
At the beginning of junior year my excitement for this class was gradually increasing. Hoping to get football or even soccer for my projects, instead of something like girls golf (whoopee-doo). But out of everything with this class i was most excited for was the show and being apart of the production of Gameday Northwest, i didn't even think i would ever get on camera because of my overwhelming fear of being on camera. The first time i was on Gameday what do i do? I do the one thing i told myself not to do, mess up. ONW...NOW! September 24, 2014. On my 2nd appearance of Gameday Northwest Brennen Wohlford and I killed it.
Tri-Caster
One of my biggest learning experiences so far this year was learning the Tri-Caster. Even though i have yet to learn all the enhancements learned and all the functions Tri-Caster has to offer, it will definitely be a fun experience to do so.
Aspects of the Camera
Another learning experience from the 1st semester was learning of the camera. I knew how to turn on/off the camera and how to press recored but didn't really have any knowledge of the aspects. Along with story-telling in videos, instead of just "spray-and-pray."
Camera Shy
My biggest learning experience so far this year is overcoming my inability to stand in front of a camera and be filmed. Before this class I couldn't even stand in front of a phone and talk on camera, but with being filmed to be shown to the whole school, it changed me perception.
Goals For 2015

Goals For 2015
- More Hours. With only filming 15 hours this semester i plan to get the achievement of 30. Hopefully i get a sport that doesn't suck to film.
- Better Storytelling. My stories were more like assignments, i hope to up my storytelling game.

Digital Innovation
The media world announced they would
allow consumers to bypass traditional pay TV distributors to access
entertainment content directly via the Internet. This mean playlists like
Netflix and Hulu Plus are in a run for their money.
The author argues that the consumer now dominates the
content creation process. With the production of of more new content
posted in one month on YouTube than was created by the three major television
networks in the past 60 years. Storytellers are now faced with figuring out
how to engage consumers in storytelling. The authors conclusion is that
the brands who do the best a harnessing the power of these technologies to
share the stories that are yearning to be told, so it the companies can
strengthen their relationships with their customers.
The argument does support his main points with
all the evidence that is used. The author uses multiple sources to prove his claims. There is no counterargument, which is reasonable, there isn't much of a counterargument to the topic of story telling. The authors evidence is quite convincing considering it consists of clear and
concise language. It's reliable because it comes from professionals that work with this topic for a living.
If is new technology coming out to work with and
broadcast with, then all functions of the new technology, and understanding of the concepts need to be accomplished.
I don't think this article was very interesting. If I
don’t have interest in an object its hard to grasp an understanding of the
concept. There is more than likely more relevant articles on storytelling about just sports.
This article is relevant to our class in some ways. This
article is mostly on television and entertainment, while we do sports casting. But it does also talk about storytelling which we do in sports, such as "30 for 30." The article talks about Netflix and tv streaming, which we have no relation to. So from the storytelling we can relate too, but the entertainment streaming is not.

5 Tips For a Great Interview
1.) Make sure your interviewee is comfortable with the setup. You don't want your interviewee squirming around during the interview, so make sure they are as comfortable as possible.
2.) Dress Professional. No one wants to be interview be a dude in a sweaty t shirt and overalls. Dress casual or even dress with some high class.

3.) Do your research. With background knowledge about your subject, you can converse with the subject, and possibly ask more insightful questions.
4.) Make eye contact (show interest in their answers), if you don't show interest in their answers your subject will become frustrated and possibly even leave the interview.5.) Keep your interview short. Try and keep your interview under 10 to 15 minutes. After that point subjects start to get restless and may shorten their response to finish the interview quicker.

On Monday October 20th, 2014 the Ravens golf team competed in the state golf tournament in Topeka, KS. The Ravens placed 4th overall as a team with a score of 364. The Ravens were led by freshmen Rosie Klausner who shot a score of 82, placing 4th overall for individual results.
Head Coach Sydney Tucker was excited about Klausner's performance.
"I'm very excited for her, she did a great job," Tucker said. "Especially the fact that she didn't play her best on the front side, with a score of 45. Then to turn around and score a 37 on the back side, which is incredible."

"That's going to hurt us. But we do have a couple girls on Junior Varsity that will be able to step up next year," Tucker said. "We are hoping to have some new freshmen coming in. So we have a lot of girls working on their game, that will have a good impact on us."
With the Ravens having a sophmore heavy variety team, they had only one placing in the top 50. Top scoring sophomore Brennan James tied for 36th with a score of 99. Next Raven sophomore Abby Julo placed 58th with a score of 106. Finally, sophomore Halle England placed 78th with a score of 122.
Coach Tucker had encouraging words about her team's performance.
"Everybody gave it their all, since it is a tough golf course. Its very tight, with lots of trees, and everyone hung in there and played well."
